Google is Testing AdWords Visual Sitelink Extensions

This Update was Spotted on mobile, the extensions display in a swipe able carousel.

Visual Sitelinks is making its re-entry. In the past Visual Sitelinks have come and gone and come again. Long back ago Google tested them (in 2013), but they never got rolled-out for update. But as a surprise Bing Ads brought its own version of Visual Site links out of beta just over a year ago. Now Google reconsidering about giving images in text ads another spin. But this time in a type of Site links test.

In the above screen shot provided by The Zebra it’s so evident that mobile ad for includes a swipe able sequence of sitelinks with accompanying images with them. It’s not clear if this test is also running on desktop version.

The inclusion of images in these extensions is interesting, as is the use of the carousel for another extension. Interestingly Last week, Google changed the display format of Price extensions from a list to swipe able carousel.

For comparison, this is what standard site links typically look like when they display in position one on mobile.

It will be an interesting to see how the Visual Site links perform compared to standard text Site links. We too eagerly waiting for the recent update from Google.
